Practice makes Progress.....      

 

Parents and students remember that to improve  musical ability, students should be practicing at home an average of at least 30 minutes a day three times a week for beginners and that number should go up as they develop as musicians.

 

After School Rehearsal

 

For students who are in Intermediate band ( meaning they have played  at least one year) there will be practice after  school on  Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 .

 

What parents can do.....

 

As the parent or Guardian of a student learning a new instrument or continuing with their music education there are a few things you can do to help support them. 

 

1. Ask about their practice schedule- how often do they practice 

2. Encourage the student to keep trying even when it gets hard.  Often beginning students will get frustrated in the first few weeks.

3. Encourage proper care of the instrument

4. Contact the Band director with any concerns you may have about learning or other band related issues
